Terms of Service
The rules for using Sober Tracker.
These Terms of Service govern your use of the Sober Tracker mobile application on iOS and Android. By using the app, you agree to be bound by these Terms.
Acceptance of terms
By downloading, installing, or using Sober Tracker (the “app”), you confirm that you are at least 13 years of age (or the minimum digital consent age in your jurisdiction) and that you have the legal capacity to enter into a binding agreement. If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not install or use the app.
Use of the app
Sober Tracker is provided as a personal tool to help you observe, log, and reflect on your relationship with alcohol. The app is intended for personal, non-commercial use.
You agree to use the app only for its intended purpose and in compliance with all applicable laws.
Medical disclaimer
Sober Tracker is not a medical device, a medical service, or a substitute for professional medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. The app does not provide medical, psychological, or addiction-recovery services.
Alcohol withdrawal can be physically dangerous and, in severe cases, life-threatening. If you have been drinking heavily for an extended period and intend to stop, please consult a qualified medical professional before doing so. Symptoms such as severe shaking, hallucinations, confusion, seizures, fever, or rapid heart rate require immediate medical attention — call your local emergency services.
The health timeline, savings projections, and any other informational content shown in the app are based on general published research about alcohol cessation. They are educational summaries, not personalized medical predictions. Individual outcomes vary and depend on personal health, prior consumption, and other factors outside the app’s knowledge.
If you are in crisis, please contact emergency services, your doctor, or a recognized treatment hotline. The app is not a substitute for any of these resources.
Your data and your responsibility
Sober Tracker stores all data locally on your device. As a consequence:
- Your sobriety history, journal entries, and other data live only on the device where you installed the app.
- If you lose the device, perform a factory reset, or delete the app, the data is permanently lost.
- We do not hold a backup and cannot restore your data.
- You are responsible for exporting your data from Settings periodically if it is important to you.
Subscriptions and payments
Some features of Sober Tracker are available only through a premium subscription or a one-time purchase. Payments are processed by the Apple App Store or Google Play and are subject to their respective terms.
- Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled. You can manage and cancel them at any time through your Apple ID or Google account.
- Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period; you retain premium access until then.
- Refund requests must be directed to Apple or Google. We cannot process refunds for purchases made through their platforms.
- Pricing may vary by region and is set within the App Store / Play Console.
Intellectual property
The app, including its design, source code, text, illustrations, branding, and the Sober Tracker name, is owned by the developer (Tilak Shakya) and is protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You may use the app for personal purposes only. You may not copy, modify, distribute, sublicense, or create derivative works based on the app, nor may you reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble any part of it, except to the extent that such restrictions are prohibited by applicable law.
Prohibited conduct
You agree not to:
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to premium features, restricted content, or any underlying systems.
- Use the app for any unlawful purpose or to encourage unlawful activity by others.
- Interfere with, disrupt, or compromise the security or operation of the app.
- Misrepresent your identity or the source of any content you share from the app.
Disclaimer of warranties
The app is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, and accuracy. We do not warrant that the app will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any defects will be corrected.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, neither the developer nor any affiliated party shall be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of data, loss of profits, loss of goodwill, or damages resulting from health-related decisions made on the basis of information shown in the app. Your sole remedy for dissatisfaction with the app is to stop using it and uninstall it.
Termination
You may terminate this agreement at any time by uninstalling the app. We may discontinue, suspend, or modify the app, or any part of it, at any time and without prior notice. Provisions of these Terms that by their nature should survive termination (including intellectual property, disclaimers, and limitations of liability) will survive.
Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. When changes are material, the revised Terms will appear on this page with an updated “Last updated” date. Continued use of the app after a change is posted means you accept the revised Terms. If you do not accept a change, please stop using the app and uninstall it.

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of India, without regard to its conflict of law principles. Any dispute that cannot be resolved informally shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts in India.
